"Linux is Not Windows"
I suggest many of you will find the above quite interesting at:
http://linux.oneandoneis2.org/LNW.htm As an OT who has migrated from Commodore days thru CPM and messy-dos I am in complete agreement after trying my best at several versions of SuSE and RedHat; and a very disappointing experience with a PC supplied with OEM Linspire linux OS that promotes its self as a replacement for windows. Its a bit long and wordy so have a full cup of coffee at start; but its worth the effort| Stay young, OldAck. |

My complaint as a Linux novice would be that Linux is not DOS. :-) I'm not familiar with the current Linux distro, but the old Unix/Linux CLIs were much too unintuitive for me. Just about any other OS made a lot more sense. - Franc Zabkar -- Please remove one 'i' from my address when replying by email. |

Mine escape to Linux started when Win95 "intuitively" pushed me into a corner and did things on my box behind my back. Familiarity with DOS'es (IBM,DR and MS) and WFWG (3.11) made Linux soooo simple. - Franc Zabkar Have fun Stanislaw Slack user from Ulladulla. |
