Default Windows 98 problems

I added more memory to an old computer under Windows 98
and now the computer doesnot recognize the internal modem
or the printer. The printer is a Canon F30 Multi-Pass.
The internal modem is old so I don't remember what kind it
is. Any suggestions on getting this computer to recognize
the internal modem? I know that I can get the printer to
work if I can get on-line to Canon.
