Default dual boot

i could not find group for win 2000 so i'm posting my question here.

i'm currently running win 2k but getting outdated w/ new apps. want to
install new hdd and put xp on it so i can use either.

-can i have two separate hdd's w/ diff os's?
-hardware is about 6 yrs old, any potential problems w/ xp running?
-is it easier to buy a new, separate pc w/ xp on it instead?

thx.

yes - no problem - Win XP includes a boot loader so that you can choose
which OS to boot from each time.

Hmm - recommended RAM is likely to b 512 MB - less than that, and XP slows
down. at the minimum 128MB-256MB it's likely to crawl with an AV running.

not easier - but certainly better, as many new PC's (from the larger OEM;s)
will come with a 'free' upgrade offer to Win 7so you'll be ahead of the
game, rather than behind it.

thx.
