Hotmail Problem

Hi, I am having difficulty donloading files sent via
email. When i come to the screen where i can 'Download
File', i click on that link and then another broser opens
up asking me for my passord. when i enter my password, i
come back to my mail box. so why is it that i cant
download anything?

i have google's pop up blocker running and also another
popup stopper, but i have try disbaling both, but still
with the same result.

i dont use my hotmail account much, but i have never coem
across this before
