Default No CD-R or CD-W Drive supported

I have installed cd burner and the software and when I try
to use program I get the message no CD-R or CD-W drive
supported.
How do I make it make contact. I suspect this is a windows
problem.

I did with no luck. I am also getting the message cannot
find any drives on my SCSI Bus. That is one message on a
burning program and the other message was no supported CD-R
or CD-RW Drive. Yet my computer recognizes the burner and
named it E drive.

*****Two possibilities: 1) computer doesn't recognize
that your drive is connected. Is this an external drive
attached with a printer cable? sometimes you have to pull
the cable out and plug it back in while the computer is
running for the drive to be recognized. 2) as others have
suggested, may be outdated drivers. For ex., my backpack
cd-rewriter works with XP, 98, but not Me!

The burner is reading CD's. So the computer recognizes the
burner. Just pops up with error (no supported drive)
when I want to burn. It was working with Win Me perfect
till now. It is an external burner.
Thank you for your help.
