Default need a widescreen laptop to run win98se/older midi apps

I have a bunch of older software synth/midi stuff that just won't work right
on xp. would like to have a powerful, wide screen laptop with mother
bd/chipset that will take win98se. i do not care if i cannot get max
performace. any suggestion or recommendations would be greatly appriciated.

I doubt this will be possible. Laptops are notorious for requiring special
support in Windows, and one MVP actually managed to damage his laptop by
running a non-approved version of Windows on it.

Have you tried the various compatibility modes in Windows XP and/or asking
for help in an XP forum?

Hi,

How about making the existing PC dual-bootable, with Windows 98SE as the
second OS? PowerQuest Partition Magic will let you do that safely.
