Default SendTo is lost

I am repeating my question in a different format.
Under "File" the SendTO option with all of its links has disappeared and
only Send still exists with these three links: Page by E-Mail, Link by
E-Mail and Shortcut to Desktop. Right or left click, they are all dead ends,
because nothing happens when I click on them.
The original 'SendTo' folder is present and intact and can also be
manipulated.
My questions a
1. Does this have anything to do with AntiVirus Software?
It is possible I neglected to inactivate it when I reinstalled
Windows ME.
2. Can it possibly be remedied by running W9x setup or
even by copying from the CD right over top of the
existing version of WME?
Thanks.

Harry.

The way it looks, there are no takers and I will have to answer my own
questions.
Can someone tell me why?

Harry, old and not so sure.

Harry,

Check the registry for the following entry:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\Con textMenuHandlers\Send To]
@="{7BA4C740-9E81-11CF-99D3-00AA004AE837}"

If the entry is not there, add it to the registry. The value that's listed
is the default value when you click on Send To. The other entries have no
values.

I don't think it's related to your AV application, but I suppose anything is
possible.

Thank you, Tom.
The registry entry you mention is there, exactly as stated.
For the time being I will have to make due without that particular SendTo
feature. Maybe in time to come I 'll get a chance to look into it a little
deeper, to find the cause and fix it.
I surely appreciate you taking the time to answer my question(s), Tom.

Harry, old and not so eager anymore.
