thanx for ur info but how do u fit a usb2 card as I have never opened the backup is a simple thing to do?

Don't bother - even if the Lexmark is a USB2 device, it should run just fine

Hi,
You may want to install the software first then reboot then plug the USB cable into the PC USB slot after the power cable is connected to the printer.
