Directory path
I'm using Windows ME and I would really appreciate someone
using Windows ME to get the directory path information for iuctl.cab. To do this, please do a search for iuctl. START SEARCH for files or folders Look in C drive for iuctl. Please relay the information listed under IN FOLDER. This will allow me to do my INSTALL. I appreciate and thank anyone who can do this for me. |

Hi Charles,
Thanks for trying to help me with the directory path question. I had previously looked at the Knowledge Base and had tried to correct my problem. The problem is that the needed file (iutcl.inf) isn't created or downloaded for me. I also noted that at the end of Fix #836986 that it states "The information in this article applies to: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Microsoft Windows XP Professional" So it looks like I can't retrieve the file I need. Thanks for trying to help me. Guess I'll upgraded to XP, Home Edition - looks like that's my only recourse. I e-mailed you last night but it came back as undeliverable. -----Original Message----- Hi Steve: Refer to this Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 836986 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=836986 PS: As per your request: A search for iuctl.cab found nothing. Shane,
I've downloaded this before and now just again. All I get are three files - Iuctl.dll, iuctl and iuengine.dll. There is no iuctl.inf unless one of the aforementioned is. Please let me know if one of them is and I'm just missing the point. Shane, I downloaded that file previously and again today. All I get are 3 files - iuctl.dll, iuengine.dll and iuctl. The first two are application extensions and the last is setup information. Am I missing something here or is one of them the file I want? You must have common file extensions set hidden. The *setup information* is
the .inf file. If you r-click iuctl you should have an *Install* option. To unhide extensions Control Panel | Folder Options | View. Go down the list. There are three options to configure concerned with hiding files, system files and extensions from you. With common sense you don't need anything hidden. Shane "Steve" wrote in message ...
