desktop icons

Salut;
I have several icons on my Desktop which I don't
need;eg. [Network 'hood],[wextract.exe], [a^2 free setup],
[RealPlayer Setup]. Can I delete the icons from
there safely or do I need to relocate them, somehow?

Right click the icon, properties and see if there is a shortcut tab. If
there is, you can safely delete the shortcuts. NN requires a change of the
networking client or you can use Tweak UI to remove it. Tweak UI is
available from:
http://www.microsoft.com/NTWorkstati.../NTTweakUI.asp
Right-click the TweakUI.inf file and select install. Should a notice appear
saying a disk is required, click OK and another screen appears. Click
browse, go to the folder containing Tweak, OK and OK.
