None (on any operating system) from which you can rightly assume I dislike
Quick Time.

Even if there was a version, QuickTime is actively being exploted and I doubt there is a
version on Win9x/ME that is patched.

I need to view certain videos whether you like it or not, Mike.
No offense, but there MUST be a compatible version to work with my computer.

This is the last build of QuickTime Alternative (the QuickTime codecs
without all the Apple bloat and guff) that works on 9x.

Okay, well as per my previous post - QuickTime Alternative is the better
option (as is Real Alternative for playing RealPlayer format files).
However, neither oldversion nor oldapps have 1.56, the last version. Until
recently you could get it linked from Free-Codecs.com, but I don't see it
now. Anyway there are a couple of sites (at least) you can still get it
incuding, obviously, the one I linked to.

I'm sorry but that doesn't mean that you need to use Quick Time.
Alternatives exist such as Quick Time Alternative that Shane has mentioned.
