Default windows 98 se error

Hi all,
everytime i try to start up my computer with windows 98
se i get an error saying "Windows Protection Error.
You need to reboot your machine." and it says that every
time i can start it up in safe mode but i need normal. if
anyone can help it would be much appriciated

Think back to what you did just prior to this incident:

Install/Uninstall software? Go to a web site? Open an
email?

In safe mode can you get into MSCONFIG ? Uncheck all boxes
except for the most essential: Explorer and Systray. Then
through a process of elimination you may discover the
culprit.

Also reply back with the exact error message, you may need a
pen and paper.

Ok i can startup my computer in safe mode im guessing i=20
can get into MSCONFIG (no clue what it is) and the only=20
thing i did prior to the error is install windows 98 se=20
and configure my computer to work with my router. The=20
exact error message is "Windows protection error. You=20
need to restart your computer." plz help
