Stops at logo screen
W98SE is loaded. This machine worked, was normally shut down.
Two days later I booted up, it stops at the mfg logo screen in POST, I understand. I was advised to hold down the CTRL key, no help. Also, now the power switch does not shut power off, have to pull the plug. How to get past the logo screen? ms |

Can you access BIOS setup? The key to use (such as DEL or F1) should be
displayed on screen. If so, go through each setting and confirm it is set to the proper value. Alternatively, you might find an option to restore a default standard setting. Disable anything you aren't using. Set the boot device to the floppy and try booting to a DOS disk. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "ms" wrote in message ... W98SE is loaded. A defective or misconfigured hard drive can cause this. Open the case, unplug
the hard drive, then see if it boots from the floppy drive or at least displays an error message. Ben "ms" wrote in message ... W98SE is loaded. This machine worked, was normally shut down.
