Default Safely delete .exe files in "TEMP" folder??

Can all files in the Windows(r) 98 "TEMP" subfile be
safely deleted without harm to computer function? I
attempted to delete some .exe files here and was warned by
the computer that something awry could occur. Wouldn't it
be safe to remove .exe files once applications are
installed?

Thanks, CNJ

It should be perfectly safe to reboot then delete all contents of the
TEMP folder before the current session.

CNJ,

Yes it's safe provided you boot into Windows, not Dos, and then do
it before doing anything else. Some installs and changes use Tmp
files to complete the process after a restart to Windows.
