Hi Mike

I will also only have one bill when it goes active, I'll have some money
to come back from BT, I'm in credit with them now, I pay monthly through
Direct Debit and my line goes active the day after my monthly payment to
BT g

I've just phoned Onetel to clear up a couple of points. I was a bit
worried about my line being ADSL if the change over would have any effect
and they assured me it wouldn't even though I don't have the broadband
service with them.

If anything goes wrong with the line I just have to get in touch with
Onetel.
Joan

Mike M wrote:

Understood. Mine is a bit different though as my telephone line is no
longer connected to BT equipment at the exchange. It's now what is
called a Local Loop Unbundled (LLU) line. Same copper line from my
home to the exchange where it is now connected to equipment owned by
Bulldog/Cable & Wireless. My only bill will be from Bulldog. BT's
involvement now being limited to repairing any problems that might
occur between me and the exchange.

Here, the most likely disk to se is now Tiscali.co.uk - and they seem to
have recovered from their earlier problems during expansion of the network,
inasmuch as a few of my clients use them and appear to get what they
describe as 'good service'

Thank you for the update availability of AOL installation CD's.
Here they remain ubiquitous, exceeded only by McDonald's paper trash and
government lies in every public place.
Does make it easy to get a newer disk when one fails.

I wouldn't know anything about the AOL service except my mother-in-law
persists in using it to message with her buddies.
AOL 8 under WinME works fine for her.

Noel, are the IE6 setup files easily accessible on the Tiscali.co.uk disk,
.... and hopefully with SP1?
While I will never see the disk probably, others Brits reading this thread
might find it useful.

My Sister has a problem with OE on her oldish PC that has Windows ME. I
think that she has OE 5.5. One of her main issues is that she can't delete
items from her outbox. Her ISP 'Help line' has told her that she needs to
upgrade to IE6. As she is on a slow dial-up connection, is there a website
where I could download IE6 and put it on a CD for her?
I am only able to find the MS Installer via the web.
TIA, Willy

That's great! I'm sure it will be of use to someone soon.
Certainly is a PITA that the AOL9 CD has hidden the IE6 setup files, as you
mentioned previously.

May have to have you mail me a Tiscali disk for the kit. Better yet, just
burn the IE6 files to CD and mail that!
