Theory is explained in / start / help / index where you enter ASSOCIATING FILE TYPES . . . 2. Practice. It is a bad idea to associate file type SYS with any program at all. So simply remove this particular file association. know how do u close programs that are running in the background but show up on system information running task...(not all of those running show when u click ctrl+alt+delete)...thanks The full list of all programs currrently running is provided by MSINFO32.EXE / Software Environment / Running Tasks and MSINFO32.EXE / Software Environment / Running Tasks (latter also shown by Ctl Alt Del.) Post again here to explain the purpose of your file named LOG.SYS. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

The full list of all programs currrently running is provided by MSINFO32.EXE / Software Environment / Running Tasks and MSINFO32.EXE / Software Environment / Running Tasks (latter also shown by Ctl Alt Del.) how do i stop those running task? Post again here to explain the purpose of your file named LOG.SYS. you can install or change your startup/shutdown screens; logo.sys is the startup screen; i did not mean log that was a typo :-); thank you for your help |

Read the Help file about Associating Files with Programs. Go via EXPLORER (My Computer) /View / Folder Options / Filetypes and if you find any such association for *.SYS delete it. The full list of all programs currrently running is provided by MSINFO32.EXE / Software Environment / Running Tasks and MSINFO32.EXE / Software Environment / Startup Programs (latter also shown by Ctl Alt Del.) how do i stop those running task? This must be done separately for each program (and may be impossible for those that are components of the Windows OS.) -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |
