As it turns out it was a virus and the antivirus i got
from F-Prot worked quite well, thanks . But im wondering
now that it has happed and i have little expirience in the
computer virus world; How does a virus work, How is one
created, and How does the Anti-Virus program work to stop
it? You dont have to spend time answering, but it really
sparked my curiosity.

Firstly, thanks for the feedback and I'm pleased that you've now got your PC
working again.

Next, it would have been preferable to 'Reply Group' in order to keep the
thread together - but I see that you are using CDO. Try using Outlook
Express for the News Groups - it's far more straightforward and you can
easily keep track of 'conversations'

Next, I would suggest that you read the various computer magazines regarding
viruses and how, why and what!!

Finally, if you haven't got an anti-virus utility on your PC, then you
correct that omission PDQ!! Try Grisoft Antivirus free edition
