UPDATE 98 to 98SE - format HD required?
If I use an official UPDATE disk to go from Win 98 to 98 SE, will I be
required to format the hard drive, lose data (& software) - or is the update more harmless than that? Thx |

Normally upgrades just take what is there and improve it. You shouldn't lose
any data. Formating is not necessary. You will need windows 98 installed to upgrade to SE. When you install it make sure you use the upgrade installer not the regular installer.
