How refine OE~ MSNG setup
Dear MVP's;
[1] I've just switched from web to OE 6 interface for access to MSNG. The web used to take me to "Win98 General Discussion", and I would like to confirm that "Win98.display.general" is the equivalent on OE, or get redirected. [2]On the "Newsgroup Subscription" page of OE, there is a list of available newsgroups, but it presents abbreviations which don't suffice. There is a check box which suggests "Descriptions" are available which I checked. I was alerted that the download of Descriptions was made but no additional info appeared. This info would be useful to me. [3]I have not discovered how to access pages previous to the current one, assuming OE lends itself to this option as does the web. I have read B. Kenny "How to Configure Outlook Express for Internet News" FAQ's, Problems & Tips but haven't found the answers to these Q's. Regards, rooster |

[1] Why not go to the same group?
Microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion is still microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion Microsoft.public.win98.display.general is not the equivalent. You might try the OE newsgroup for more detail on [2] and [3] OE6 newsgroups. news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...tlooke xpress news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ess.stationery ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.display.general, "rooster" wrote: Dear MVP's; [1] I've just switched from web to OE 6 interface for access to MSNG.
