How did you restore? Was it by using system restore or did you use an OEM
restore or recovery CD? What appears to have happened is that the resolution has dropped, either because you no longer have the correct video drivers for your graphics card installed or perhaps just because the actual resolution has been reset. Open the Device Manager (Control Panel | System). Click the + alongside Display adapters. Is your graphics card correctly identified or is it perhaps the default VGA adapter? If not correctly identified then in all probability you need to reinstall your video drivers. Resolution Right click on the desktop, then click Properties and then Settings (or Control Panel | Display). Adjust screen resolution and colour depth to suit your requirements. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Phill wrote: Help please?? Either by reinstalling them from a CD that probably came with the PC or alternatively going to the manufacturer's web site and downloading and then installing the latest Win Me compatible drivers for your graphics adapter. If you don't know the manufacturer of your graphics adapter you might be able to check this on your computer manufacturer's web site. Alternatively you might want to download and use the free Everest Home Edition from Lavalys (http://www.lavalys.com/products/over...ng=en&pageid=1). This is a most useful tool and can help identify many of your hardware and system components that you might not otherwise be able to determine without opening up the PC's case. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP |
