Default Portion magic ruined external drive

I was using partition magic to create a new partition on an external
drive. While rebooting the computer froze and I had to unplug it. My
external drive is "corruptable or unreadable." Portition magic says
error 7 "operation canceled by user" occured. How do I fix this. Can I?

You may have caused the problem when you shut the PC down. Some of PM's
operations must be done in DOS and if there are big partitions or complex
operations involved, the PC may appear to crash but really has not. I don't
think the drive was ruined but you may need to start over and repartition,
etc.

another reason not to use any symantec product, try their web site support
page
http://www.powerquest.com/home_homeo...d=sp&pvid=pm80

If no joy remove the drive from the carrier and install it as an internal
drive and try regular windows fdisk to rebuild.
