files incorrectly name in history folder, after deleting, still no normal startup
thank you after looking at a few log files I found that it was this file
that was at fault, it was not the correct size, and replaced it and now laptop pc is working a dream. thank you again J "Steven Burn" wrote in message ... vredir.vxd is VREDIR Virtual Device, and from what I've been able to find, is related to Microsoft Video Drivers (personally I'd have thought it to have something to do with either RPC or networking). As far as disabling it goes, you can't. You can however, use SFC to restore a copy from your Windows CD. Start Run, type: sfc Select to restore a single file and set the "Restore From" path to D:\WIN98 (where D is your CD-Rom drive), and the Restore To path to C:\Windows\System Info: Description of the System File Checker Tool (Sfc.exe): http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=185836 and http://users.westelcom.com/rogersr/sfc.htm System File Checker Tool Extracts Incorrect File Versions http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=192832 Error Message: System File Checker Identified that the Following File may Be Corrupted.
