Not surprised with those two, Tammy.

I have used Avast (www.avast.com) for more than two years without any
problems. They update the definitions often and have good customer
support, even for the free version.
There are many in these Newsgroups that will recommend AVG, also free.
If you want to pay for one, I understand eTrust EZ Armor may be the
best out there; it's probably still free for the first year, however
they charge $10 per year for the definitions, thereafter.

I am very much in agreement with your suggestions, Dapper Dan.
Tammy can't go wrong with that kind of advice.
The only thing I would like to add would be the use of EZ Firewall. She can
try it for a month, I believe and then either drop it or buy it. I think it
is $39.95 per year, including all necessary or provided improvements.
Just purchased it myself, because it is quite effective.
Fully realizing that Tammy didn't ask for it, I would
still recommend it as an indispensible tool.

Harry, old and with good intentions.

Try Panda Software Anti Virus programs. They are not
expensive and they are very good.
