two (2) open commands

When you attempt to open certian folders or
programs/applications "Double click" indicates that the
path is incorrect. But, when you right click the various
folders/icons on the desktop and within the control panel
or HDD. You will see two "Open" commands in the box. One
is bold and the other is plain. When selecting the "bold"
one nothing happens. However when you select the
plain "open" the folder will open and the application will
run. Have not been able to duplicate this nor have I?
determined what is causing this. Customers Anti-virus is
up to date and no added search engines have been
installed. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

file types

scroll down the list to the required file type(alphabet by description)
and left click/select it

Edit
left click/select Bold highlighted open
Remove
left click/select plain open
Make default
