When you post back, please keep your replies in the same thread for ease of
tracking. The policy editor (poledit.exe) may already be installed and if so, go to the second part: To install System Policy Editor (poledit.exe), go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab and click Have Disk. In the Install From box, click Browse and browse to the Tools\Reskit\Netadmin\Poledit folder on the W98 CD. Highlight poledit.inf and click OK twice. In the Have Disk screen, check the System Policy Editor box and click Install. To enable the registry tools, open the Policy Editor, click on File and Open Registry, double click Local User, click the + sign on W98 System, click the + on Restrictions and remove the mark from Disable Registry.... Ok your way out. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "jason" wrote in message ... There are W95 newsgroups and that is where you should post W95 questions so
you are getting answers from people who specialize on that system. Do a find on your W95 disk on: poledit and when found, double click the folder. In the folder is poledit.inf which you right click and select Install. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "jason" wrote in message ... poledit.exe is not istalled and since I cannot open settings, I cannot access control panel to install it from CD, the OS is windows95 and I have the CD, is there any other way to install poledit.exe from CD without going through Control panel -----Original Message----- When you post back, please keep your replies in the same thread for ease of tracking.
