Me (registration number)
I recently had one of my older computers that I had given
to my grandson's crash and ended up putting a new hard drive on it. I had upgraded to Windows ME (when it first came out) from Windows 98. However somewhere in the process I lost my registration code. I had registered it with Microsoft. Does anyone know if there is any way to recover the reg. code from them or any other way. I wouldn't bother except I went and bought xp to put on there instead but it won't take that as it come back with an error about my system bios not being correct. I don't want to start changing all that kind of stuff as it just wouldn't be worth it. I have a HP 8660. Thanks Lowell |

If it is put it back in and start up the computer. Safe Mode would be okay if there are problems with a normal startup. Use Start - Run - REGEDIT and then in Regedit use Edit - Find to locate the character string ProductKey Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C.
