Serial Mouse won't move
Ian:
I An old desktop PC (Win 98 SE) uses a serial mouse. For some reason the I mouse stopped working a few days ago. I do not believe the problem is the I mouse, as I have used it elsewhere. I have tried using PS/2 mouse (serial I compatible) with an adapter to COM port. Again no luck. I have not I installed any new hardware, software or otherwise knowingly changed the I system. I I Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the serial mouse working I again on this old workhorse? Is the mouse installed on COM2 and something was removed from COM1? I vaguely recall Windows would "move" Com2 to Com1 is nothing was installed on the lower port. Another option: there isn't a switch on the bottom of the mouse that got switched accidently, is there? - ¯ barry.martinþATþthesafebbs.zeppole.com ® * Daffynition: rat cheer - (not there) - (Here) - like "Lay it rat cheer" --- þ RoseReader 2.52á P003186 þ The Safe BBS þ Bettendorf, IA 563-359-1971 --- þ RIMEGate(tm)/RGXMod V1.13 at BBSWORLD * |
