LPT1 convert to serial com port?
I have an IBM Thinkpad with USB and parallel ports but no serial data port.
Any quick/easy way to convert LPT1 to a serial DB9 port? I tried using a 25-pin to 9-pin adaptor but no comms. Thanks - sorry if this is the wrong discussion board. That site certainly seems to have everything you ever wanted to know about
the parallel port, except, AFAICT, for how to convert it to a serial port. Probably because there is no quick and easy way. The LPTCAP device listed there has nothing to do with serial ports. You would need a bidirectional parallel/serial converter, such as https://store.mgram.com.au/pdfs/SXP1000.PDF -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "Scott Lane" wrote in message ...
