no display in crtl panel ?
Hello,
I do not have the display icon in my control panel. Is it because msgsrv32 is not loading? Have reinstalled 98 se, and it still does not work. Must be some conflict with a program.Have msgsrv32 on the drive. Where in the sytem.ini does this load up? Driving me crazy as have to crtl-alt-del every boot. Then close msgsrv32 for puter to start. Any help would be gladly accepted.I will call Mr. Gates if not fingered out. Or just format the HD, hate to do that as have it how I want it. Give me a hammer.............. Phil |

No idea why you bring msgsvr32 in to the display problem as I don't
see a connection. First you should check to see that you have Desk.cpl in the System folder, as that is used for the Display applet. If there, then see if it works by double-clicking or using this command from the Run box: control desk.cpl It doesn't load in System.ini System.ini contains items you don't want to load in the [don't load] section, so ensure there is no reference there to desk.cpl ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion, domain (Phil) wrote: Hello, I do not have the display icon in my control panel. It's CONTROL.INI (not system.ini) that includes the
entries to control what does or doesn't display in Control Panel. -----Original Message----- No idea why you bring msgsvr32 in to the display problem as I don't see a connection.
