New Email Disappears !!
Sea Monkey is not an "Email server" and it is not supported in this
newsgroup. Old Bob wrote: My OS is Win98SE and my Email server is Sea Monkey. Upon opening of the server, the title appear in bold for a fraction of a second (?) and then disappears. If I am fast enough to click on it I can open it, otherwise it's gone !! This appears to be a virus detector/spam problem, but I have not changed my Email server settings before this started. I tried reinstalling Sea Monkey, no help. Any comments/suggestions ?? |

Sea Monkey is what I use to download my Email from my ISP. What "newsgroup" are you talking about ???? The software you run on YOUR computer for email and/or Newsgroups is a client application. The ISP runs mail server software on their computer(s). You posted an inquiry in a newsgroup for Windows 98 Operating System (OS) inquiries. PA Bear was advising you that persons able to answer inquiries about the Sea Monkey mail client you are using might not be reading this news group. While I'm not familiar with Sea Monkey, you might want to check for settings that would delete messages with specified character (letter/number/symbol) combinations in the subject or sender/from fields or even the content. Some mail clients might even have settings to delete messages with blank subject or sender/from fields. If your ISP offers web mail access you might want to see if the missing messages still appear in the web interface. Check the web site operated by the publisher of your mail client for links to Sea Monkey specific support forums or Usenet groups. You could also use a search engine like Ask or Google to look for a Sea Monkey specific group. |
