Unable to Share internet with main computer
First, you must be running Win98SE on the computer that is sharing the
modem. On that computer, go to Start, Help and type: Internet Connection Sharing. You will then find information on how to configure the computer with the modem to share it's Internet connection and the other computers on the network to use this connection so that when a computer on the network wants to use the Internet, the modem will dial if not already connected. PattyL In addition to what PattyL said, configure your D-Link router to be a wireless access point only, bypassing its routing capabilities: 1. Connect the main computer to one of the router's LAN ports, not to its WAN (Internet) port. 2. Disable the router's built-in DHCP server. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. I'm sorry, but I don't answer questions addressed directly to me in E-mail or news groups. Unable to Share internet with main computer
Yes you can but you posted in a Win98 networking newsgroup and did not
mention what operating system Main (with the modem) was running, so my assumption was that you were running Win98 or Win98SE. Win98 cannot share it's Internet connection.
