Default Ne****ch.exe

Is ne****ch .exe a spyware?
I have it in the WINDOWS directory.
A spyware program picks it as extremely dangerous but the installation date
is the same as the rest of my WinMe so I am a bit sceptical.
Thanks
MikeA

Thanks for the prompt answer.
But "my" Ne****ch.exe has 72 KB not 12,832 bytes
I do not have the three other files mentioned on the link you provided.
Right click- properties show :
Description : Microsoft Windows Net Watcher
Company name : Microsoft
Is this the same Ne****ch.exe?

The Win Me operating system includes a file named ne****ch.exe which
should be located in the Windows folder, have a modified date of 8 Jun
2000 (the same as all Win Me system files) and a size of 73,728 bytes.
This file is neither a trojan nor a virus but rather can be used to
monitor which files on the system are being accessed by another system on
the network.

Thanks, Mike M
" Spyware Stormer" picked it as a spyware.
But the date of the file stopped me from deleting it.
Now I will delete the Spyware Stormer

Mike,

I'm a bit worried about an application that appears to suggest a file is
extremely dangerous based it would appear solely on its name. Bring the
file to your attention perhaps but nothing more and to call it dangerous
is I feel somewhat extreme.

Regards,

Very good. Other than never powering on the machine, I don't know how to
better protect you.
Be sure to get the new signatures regularly. It only takes a couple of
minutes even at dial-up speeds.
