Select Language In Regional Settings
Dear all,
I open Regional Settings from Control Panel, then I click the drop down list to select language, I see many rows contain "English (United States)". Why does my Windows behaviour like that ? Thanks. Vensia |

It appears the data is corrupt as their should just be a single entry for
English US (and eight other English settings). -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Vensia" wrote in message ... put finger to keyboard and composed: I open Regional Settings from Control Panel, then I click the drop down list to select language, I see many rows contain "English (United States)". Maybe there is a problem with these registry keys ??? The information between the dotted lines was extracted from the registry of
a fresh installation of W98. Create a text file and copy and paste the data to the file. Hit the return key twice to leave a blank line at the bottom of the data and save the file (use any name you like). Change the file's extension from .txt to .reg and save the file. Right click the .reg file and select Merge to import the data it contains into your registry. This should correct the data in the drop down window you are concerned with but I don't know whether or not there are other problems in this area. ----------------------------------------------------- REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Rfc1766] "0436"="af;Afrikaans" "041C"="sq;Albanian" "0001"="ar;Arabic" "0401"="ar-sa;Arabic (Saudi Arabia)" "0801"="ar-iq;Arabic (Iraq)" "0C01"="ar-eg;Arabic (Egypt)" "1001"="ar-ly;Arabic (Libya)" "1401"="ar-dz;Arabic (Algeria)" "1801"="ar-ma;Arabic (Morocco)" "1C01"="ar-tn;Arabic (Tunisia)" "2001"="ar-om;Arabic (Oman)" "2401"="ar-ye;Arabic (Yemen)" "2801"="ar-sy;Arabic (Syria)" "2C01"="ar-jo;Arabic (Jordan)" "3001"="ar-lb;Arabic (Lebanon)" "3401"="ar-kw;Arabic (Kuwait)" "3801"="ar-ae;Arabic (U.A.E.)"
