I've this integrated internal Winmodem , does it work in a Fax connection ?

Very likely, but you will need additional fax software to enable the
features.
This may have come pre-installed on the machine. Examine the installed
programs for something that looks like it.

I've the scanner BearPaw (Mustek is the vendor ) that should send a fax . It
composes the fax number
but when the fax machine called replies ( I hear the tipical sounds on the
line ) instead to send data it composes
again the fax number ! It seems they cannot talking ......

Followup with tech support from Mustek about the fax feature. Hopefully,
there is an updated fax software available for your model of scanner.
From your description, the communication to negotiate the details of the
protocol between the two machines is not succeeding for some reason/s.

If nothing new is available, fax software has become very inexpensive and
you may wish to obtain another product, if only to test.
