Default 'DMCOLOR.DLL' and 'FINSTALL.DLL' messages w/HP officejet 300

I have been trying to use a HP Officejet model 300 and
keep getting this message and it asks me to insert my
windows98 second edition cd rom. My computer was given to
me and I dont have this is there a way around this or
something else i can do?

See if you have a folder on your hard drive named \windows\options\cabs. If
you do, then point the installer to this folder. If you don't, then search
your hard drive for *.cab files. These will probably be the Win98
installation files. If you don't find these then your only resolution is to
get a copy of Win98. If you don't get the exact same version as the one
that you are using, then using files from it could cause problems unless you
do a clean install of Windows so that the files that you are using are not
mismatched.

You can obtain Win98 from eBay and some retailers that sell second hand
products.
