Class not registered

I downloaded a movie,and when i play it ,it says"class not registered".I have
windows 98 and version 9.0 media player,it does play other clips just this
one has issues,is it something to do with the movie or the player?????HELP PLZ

I have Win 98, with Windows Media Player 7, and got this error while playing
MP3 files. Read some of your posts about reinstalling. Can't find installer
in Win Explorer. Do I need to download Win7 again?

Can't help you much if the file is damaged. I'll suggest you try some of the
programs that claim to fix such files.
If it's a "codec lacking" problem then you need to identify in which formats
were the files encoded and install the codecs necessary for "decoding" the
files for playback. A good program to help you identify encoding type is
