Default IPC$ problems

I have a Win98SE computer that connects to a domain (handled by Exchange
Server 2000). I have a network printer that I would like to use from that
computer. I downloaded all the appropriate software from the printer
company, but it doesn't work. So, I would like to set up a shared printer on
the server for use on that computer. However, whenever I try to create a
port called \\servername\printername I get the following dialog box: "You
must supply a password to make this connection". The resource name is
\\servername\printername. No matter what password I use, it doesn't work. I
have tried creating a user account for admin on the local machine. The user
already has an account on the domain. There is one other catch, however, as
the user logs in, the system typically displays and error that no domain
controller could be found to authenticate username. Help.
