Default Printing in OLD Quicken (v 1.01)

I'm helping a guy who wants to continue using Quicken 1.01 (1991-ish) on his
new computer despite my urging him to upgrade.

By using Virtual PC and loading Windows 98 I was able to get it running
again, but whenever I print in Quicken all the visible windows lose focus,
and anything I click on 'dings' at me. If I open a new program (ie. calc.exe)
it will crash Quicken program and I can re-open it and resume what I was
doing.

Any ideas?
