Default &*&*! downloaded SP2 can't get PC running

I have a great running PC that we use for recording. We run XP PRO
..Yesterday, I ask a a young person in our store to set up a new
Tascam 3200, I it had SP2 on the disk for up dates or something . .
This PC has been in three different studio and I have no way of
finding the org.disk . Windows want me to active the XP. . .

QUESTION: Is there a way in safe mode or something to loose SP2 and
get my PC back.

Many drivers were taken out years ago by a wiz kid to help XP pro run
like a good Mac, which it did.

I always used PC for recording and never had a problem. this SP2
has cuz a huge problem.

Just a couple of points. This is a newsgroup supporting those running the
Win Me operating system rather than XP. Secondly if XP is asking you to
activate it then you must do so otherwise you will lose all access to the
system within a few days - no disk is required to do this. As for
removing SP2, and I can see no good reason for doing so, use Add/Remove
Programs and click Uninstall. IMO you would be much better served by
posting details, to a newsgroup supporting XP of course, of your problems
having installed SP2 rather than putting your system at significant risk
by uninstalling SP2.

No drivers need to be uninstalled or removed to make a PC run well. Doing
so is more likely to cause significant problems, something you've found
out already for yourself.

Try asking in a group which actually supports Windows XP - this one supports
users of Windows Millennium Edition!
