The product you suggest has NO comprehension of the

Win9X stumbling upon something being used within the Win9X
environment and supplying that BACK to Norton or with whom
Norton participates ... when the completely current and
PRESENT AV can't really protect the SUPPORTED OSs as
evidenced by the millions of infected computers and massive
amounts of botnets and their activities bypassing those
supposed protections.
The world realizes you have a mental difficulties... you

However, individuals unfamiliar with you may not; please
stop posting

understand you have mental and psychological difficulties.

I have had 98guy plonked ever since he displayed his utter
assholiness with his reaction to my "stop posting about Terhune"
plea so I had to click on the reference to read what he actually
wrote - I can only assume that you were sufficiently upset by
what either he or I posted that you "formatted" your reply a
little confusingly, as seen above...

In any case, for now I will assume you are addressing 98guy's
insane post about the VERY (like early 90's) formerly great and
currently UTTER garbage Norton=Symantec product(s).

Please correct me if this assumption is wrong.

Any other comments are also welcome. Frankly, I was expecting at
least ten follow ups. Maybe all the other authors are in my KF?!

(...)

Well, fancy that. Disabled my KF and NO OTHER REPLIES! Oh
well...

Some filters are apparently being applied again at the server level, I
see many supposed postings [like this time- started at 12 when first
contact made, and ended up at 6 available] almost immediately removed,
and have noted several of my own posts don't make it for some reason,
even though they don't contain anything offensive, attacks or counters,
bad links, bad words, or whatever. Did note you got a couple cuss words
through somehow..

Note: 98 has now changed his nym again to get around the kill files,
and to again post his links to his pirated software. Anyway, yeah,
that's what it was for, a 2002 version severely outdated in its
abilities 98 Guy is attempting to get everyone to install.
Uniquely, he claims to NOT run AV and that it isn't need at all anyway
if you run WIn9X or ME, as if we are still attempting to deal with the
same issues as in the Win9X heyday.

You forgot to full-quote me. Why are you not consistent in that regard?

The product you suggest has NO comprehension of the exploits and

NAV 2002 can be updated from Symantec such that it has the most current
virus signatures and scan-engine - equal to any symantec product being
sold today.

Really. So you haven't a clue how many Norton AV systems have been
infected recently... how comforting Win9X and ME users to know YOU
haven't a clue...

Take your mental issues back to that mental illness group where you
came from, I did ask politely.

Will someone get this aioe.org server input killed please.

With all due respect, MEB, that will have to start with you.

Harry.

So I noticed. I think my OP was somewhat "disputable", so I
still have my KF disabled to see if anyone replies with anything
interesting. So regardless of his nym change, I just witnessed
his eloquence myself. I originally went easy on him with my KF
if nothing else because I think 98 users are to be supported,
but he is definitely a low life form.

AFA the server level "censorship", I am not familiar enough with
the structure of those systems to make any comment, but it
certainly seems peculiar.

Because everything Norton/Symantec made/"made" after 1999 or so
is garbage.

Why do I even bother replying to you. You smell all the way over

Maybe because your kind shouldn't even be allowed out of their
holes, for lack of a better expression?

And, presumably, is the same garbage that Symantec has been
churning out for about ten years now.

Blow it out your sphincter Hemorrhoid.

That's "thanatoid".

(BTW, you can REALLY hold your own in a discussion! That was a
BRILLIANT repartee!)

You and you other
pussies on dial-up who are so paranoid about picking up
viruses on your win-98 systems.

My KF is still disabled so you are being granted the rare honor
of being noticed by me, although you are still a total asshole
as you have proven beyond any doubt. Usually I concentrate on
things more directly related to the symmetry and infinity of the
universe, not insignificant amoeba-like creatures.

FYI, since Sept 2008 I am no longer on dial-up, but ONLY because
paying for 2 phone lines and the dial-up service suddenly became
more than twice as expensive as a basic semi-BB connection,
including the phone line, LD discounts, and several other
freebies. That is the only reason I am on the internet with
98SELite. When I still used my USRobotics 33.6 modem I was using
Win 95B and was quite happy with it, as well as with the
connection speed. I don't need BB, most people don't - but the
world is changing, and not for better, if you can comprehend
that statement.

And I am not paranoid about viruses, mainly because in over 15
years on the net I have never gotten one. Also, I /think/ when I
am online. I went without renewing my ESET license for a while
and did not expect it to find anything when I finally renewed a
few days ago. It did find a few things, but they were all
"debatable" as in port scanner in a torrent protection app, and
hack tools.

The reason I renewed my license is that even though I have
gotten NO viruses in 15 years does not mean I may not get one
tonight. And even I can afford $40 for a top-of-the line
product, however unnecessary it may really be, and however much
of a "big scare" (à la pitbulls, etc.) and big business viruses
have become. I ONLY scan what I DL, and the whole system MAYBE 3
times a year.

How often do YOU scan, Oh Fearless Guy? Have it on all the time,
don't ya. Norton too, I bet.

Sigh.

Any other comments are also welcome.

Really?

Well, fancy that. Disabled my KF and NO OTHER REPLIES! Oh
well...

Here they come.

Where? You didn't say very much. let alone worth reading. In
fact, you basically said NOTHING except displayed a truly
impressive AND original way with words by changing a few letters
in my nym.
