Default Driver Problem?

Just re-installed W98 after a rather nasty worm/virus/something ate
half of my OS. Going through the process of re-installing all of my
software and whatnot, and now, I'm getting this problem (that yellow
exc. point thing) with the "PCI Serial Controller" in the Device
Manager settings - does this have any tie to the USB system?

My modem works OK (it's an external), and the only thing I can see it
affecting is my USB items; I have a camera that the system won't
detect anymore, and a USB joystick that won't work either.

I removed and re-installed the USB drivers, it didn't change anything.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

B

Have you installed all the motherboard drivers chipset etc ?, "PCI Serial
Controller" usually refers to an internal modem, check to see if there
isn't one built into the motherboard.
