emjw.exe missing what is this?? HELP

hi. I'm trying to fix a friends computer windows 98. I am
getting NOWHERE. I keep getting the message
that:"emjw.exe" is missing and is nescasarry for
applications!! i was going to re-install windows, but,
same message! i cant download, i cant install from
disc..any ideas? please?

It is most likely a trojan.
First, download this file to a working computer:

Download it to the Desktop, then copy it to a floppy disk and bring to =
the problem computer.
On the problem computer, right-click the .inf file on the floppy, and =
click Install on the menu that appears.
This will allow you to run programs again.

Then, update your anti-virus app and run a full-system virus scan.

Use CWShredder, the CoolWeb removal tool, available he

In addition, install Ad-Aware 6 free edition, start it, click its 'Check =
for Updates' link in the app to install updates, then use it to scan =
your system, and remove what it finds.

then remove the items in RED only.

If your trouble continues,
download, unzip, and run Hijack This from one of these locations:

Unzip to a folder other than your Desktop or the Temp folder, =
double-click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save =
Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere you can find it (Desktop, My =
Documents, or similar).
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix =
anything yet.
