Default Back to beeps

Someone posted here a few days ago asking about the beeps
their compuer was making... here's an answer that I snagged
from another ng.

"Just as an FYI for anyone that isn't computer savvy, one
long and three short beeps means video, three short means
RAM."

That isn't accurate. BIOS beep codes are BIOS dependent.

On an AMI BIOS, for example, 1 long and 3 short
(probably) means that the RAM isn't seated properly,
or has failed.

So, to properly diagnose BIOS Beep Codes,
you need to know who manufactured the BIOS chip.

As with anything else on the planet, you can look up
BIOS Beep Codes on Google for more info.

Or, purchase the handy little "Pocket PCRef" book
(Glover & Young) published by Sequoia Publishing.
