That's a "feature" of Office 2000 that MS never fixed.

Every time I start up my computer and then shut down
Microsoft keep on making temporary folders. I've tried
opening the folders with MS Word and ther is nothing in
them. BUT after a while the number of folders bogs down
the computer. Folder names such as ...
.... ffe00_{BBFF9B00-F7BD-1-1D8-9B44-005004DF40CA}.tmp ...
one right after the other. What is wrong with my Win98SE
that it continues to make these .tmp folders until
overload of hard drive occurs? Any HELP would be
appreciated.

Wrong - it's not a "Office 2000 feature". The mdm.exe program ships with
many Microsoft products including Visual Studio, Front Page and others.

Wrong - the article says how to fix it, though it may not be the fix you
want.

I just selected all from the Office 2000 install menu. I assumed all of it
was of MS product stuff, therefore anything wrong was of MS responsibility.
Guess I need to go to MSlogic school or something.
You're right, the fix is unsatisfactory in my lowly opinion, such as it is
compared to yours.
