Defragging the Hard Drive

Noel and all, Thanks for your comments and opinions, but after using
Diskeeper 9 for quite awhile, (and having paid for it) I find that the tests
at PcPitstop still favor the defragmentation as done by Windows Me version
of defrag. Diskeeper really, loused up my D:/ drive, a partition that is
used for User BU. I won't go on and on, but I could. Whatever floats your

different logic in the way that they arrange files, and will ALWAYS tend
to
redo the process if used sequentially.
Once you decide on a defrag program, keep using that program (and that
program only) for a good number of cycles before coming to any opinion
about its effectiveness. Chop-and-change simply confuses the issue.

Sorry Dan, I have zero joy with Diskeeper, Lite or otherwise. If you use
the
option to 'defrag according to usage' thing, then your 'scandisk' will
NOT
work. A simple test as to how well Diskeeper isn't working is to do a
Windows defrag afterwards. Diskeeper is sloppy, and leave much to be
desired. 'mo'
