Here's my other long-lost post. LOL
Okay, just downloaded Everest. It added another item:
Microsoft Kernel System Audio Renderer, along with previously mentioned
C-media and Wave Devices. (If this means anything, I sure don't know about
it!)
I DO have an error in "Other Devices"...PCI Universal Serial Bus. It states
that the drivers are not installed. But it won't let me install them.

Reboot to Safe Mode
Remove ALL USB devices
Reboot to Normal Mode
See if that clears the USB error

Thanks, Noel. Got rid of the error, but still have no volume. I just DON'T
know what happened! Oh, and when I re-booted windows searched for drivers,
but couldn't find any. I went through the lists of drivers and couldn't find
a match.

Ah - did the system actually say what sort of drivers it was looking for??

Have you installed Everest or AIDA32 yet? - if so, look in the various
sections, and see where there's a discrepancy between the Windows devices,
and the Physical devices - this should give a clue as to which driver is
required, and as to what's happening with the sound drivers.

(What Loudspeakers are you using? - I take it that you've checked them in
another system??)

I don't believe this. I have a big fat yellow question mark by PCI Universal
Serial Bus again. I did get rid of it in safe mode previously like you said.
I'm going to try aida32 (never heard of it before). And while I was googling
it, I found "majorgeeks.com"
Have you ever been there? Looks interesting. Oh, and yes, speakers do work
on other systems. LOL

I would suggest installing the AGP and USB drivers from here
http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Pro...ailName=Driver
and see if that helps
