Windows Me setup hangs

I am trying to install win Me and it hangs every time after it goes through
scandisk and gets to Scanning system registry. Any ideas??????

Am going nuts. It's a clean install and Ive tried with win95 installed. I
even tried booting with a winMe boot disk. Still hangs on the same spot.......

There is no reason for it to hang at this point if the hardware is working
properly - suspect your RAM
Such errors are often caused by problems with the RAM - download DocMemory
from www.simmtester.com and create the boot disk. Use this to boot the PC,
and run the test overnight to check the RAM thoroughly.
See what it reports.
