Default Winzip woes.

I have been zipping MSWorks database files and sending
them to Thailand for 3 years.

Suddenly my partner is unable to open the zipped files.

He is advised "Not a valid archive" or he mentioned something
about "part of spanned archive"

any thoughts?

I have uninstalled winzip, and installed a new version 8.0
full virus check
spybot adaware checked
scandisk
repaired OE

thanks

Hello Rodney,

The latest versions of WinZip have facilities pr_evious
ones did not have. Check that your partner in Thailand
has the same version number as you.

Hope that helps.

I would first want to know how you are performing the ZIP operation. =
There are many ways to do it. How do you do it?

Have you tried Zipping other files to send to your partner as a test? If =
you wish, you may send me a ZIP file (perhaps with some nonsense or =
publicly available set of files as content) and I will see what I can =
see.

Also, has your partner changed anything, and what email client is he =
using?

Thanks Gary and Gabriele,

I'll send Gary a test zip as of now.

I am right clicking the file, and "add to zip"
which offers the file to zip to a file name identical.

Strange, I had a phone call earlier from my wife and young son
who are visiting family in Bangkok, and they mentioned all their
hotmails are not opening. My partner uses hotmail address.
just a thought

thank you for your offer of help

I've responded to your private emails, and yes, I think the problem is =
due either to in transit problems or to some other problem on your =
partner's end.
