Product Key question
My church receives used computers which we clean up and give to non-profit
organizations. Most of the time we get just the hardware - no software, no install or recovery disks etc. If I use a program to find the Product Key, is it legal for me to use my copy of Win98 or WinMe to do a re-install and input the Product Key from that machine? |

In a word No. Each PC requires its own licence.

I would be using the Product Key from the machine that is given to me. I would just be using my cd's to do the re-install? |

Brian,
Ah, understood. Personally I have no problems with what you are proposing however I don't work for Microsoft nor do I speak for Microsoft but provided each PC has its own unique key then ..... -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Brian Gotjunk wrote: I would be using the Product Key from the machine that is given to me.
