Win.me can't get to BIOS (F1 key)

How do you get to the BIOS settings (F1 key) in windows me.I have a
Compaq Deskpro 575
and no matter what I do,I just can't get into it.

The above computer was given to me,and who ever hade it before me had
put a password in
there,now I can't get rid of it,how do I get rid of it?

There will be a reset jumper on the motherboard, appropriately named
"reset'" you can either use this or remove the CMOS battery and go get a
snack while the residual charge drains from memory, then start over. Note
that you will have default BIOS settings which are less than optimal, so
you are in for a learning experience optimizing.

While at it, take the opportunity to install the latest BIOS flash and
drivers from the MOBO mnftr's site.

Some, most recent ones anyway, have a "load optimized defaults" option in
setup, so that saves time. Don't forget to enable USB first of all (legacy
support) if you use a USB KBRD or Mouse.
